JOZANKEI NATURE LUMINARIE 2025 – An Enchanting Night Illumination in the Heart of Nature

Today, we’d like to introduce “JOZANKEI NATURE LUMINARIE,” an enchanting nighttime illumination event that brings together nature and light in perfect harmony. Held in Jozankei Onsen—known for its hot springs and serene surroundings—this event transforms the natural landscape into a magical nighttime wonderland.
What is JOZANKEI NATURE LUMINARIE?
This is an illumination event that takes place in the lush natural setting of Jozankei Onsen, which lies within Sapporo. Held every summer and autumn, the area is decorated with elegant lights, creating a fantastical world that blends seamlessly with the surrounding trees, rivers, and sky.
The theme for 2025 is “The Forest of Light.” As you stroll along the river, you’ll see trees wrapped in soft light and walkways glowing gently. The entire space becomes a captivating blend of nature and art.
Event Highlights
Magical Illumination Along the Toyohira River
The main attraction is a path of light stretching alongside the Toyohira River. With sounds of flowing water and a soft breeze, the lights create a dreamlike atmosphere.
Projection Mapping and Artistic Installations
Trees and rocks are used as canvases for projection mapping, adding motion and storytelling to the illumination. It’s a fusion of nature and digital art.

Access
From Hotel Ten to Ten, walk to Sapporo Station (about 7 minutes), then transfer to the “Jotetsu Bus” bound for Jozankei. Get off at “Jozankei Shrine” or “Futami Park” bus stop. The bus ride takes approximately 75 minutes. In total, expect about 90 minutes of travel time.

Since it is an outdoor event, please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes
Bug spray is recommended in summer
