Started in 1959, this festival has long been cherished by the citizens of Sapporo and is now a symbol of spring in the city. What is a lilac flower?
Lilacs are early summer flowers that bloom in soft purple and white shades. They are also designated as the official “tree” of Sapporo. Their delicate appearance and faint sweet fragrance captivate visitors. During the Lilac Festival, over 400 lilac trees bloom beautifully, mainly in Odori Park.

Access
From Hotel Ten to Ten, walk to Sapporo Station (approx. 7 minutes), then take the Namboku Subway Line one stop to Odori Station (approx. 2 minutes). The venue, Odori Park, is located right outside the station. Total travel time is about 10 minutes.
The Sapporo Lilac Festival, which marks the end of spring and the beginning of summer in Sapporo, is a special event where you can enjoy beautiful scenery and local culture all at once.
